Finally, the news is out!!!
I am pleased to announce RoyalMail as a Partner and investor in Charac. This helps our mission to enable 7000+ independent community pharmacies in the UK provide vital and much needed healthcare services. It is with great pleasure that Team Charac is able to connect two of the most trusted professions in our community, your Pharmacist and your Postman.
We are proud to be fully integrated with IM1 and approved by the NHS. Charac enables patients to book appointments and speak with their Pharmacists via a multitude of mediums; video calls, phone calls or in person consultations. Most importantly for our Pharmacists, all those free over the counter consultations (such as the assessment of rashes, coughs and colds, allergies etc) done day in day out can now be recorded. This will allow the Pharmacists to provide follow-up care for their patients, improving outcomes and evidencing their vital role within primary care in our communities.
As part of our mission to enable community Pharmacists to have the time and resources to provide consultations, we recognise that their outdated manual prescription processes need digitisation and streamlining. This involves allowing patients the ability to manage their own prescriptions digitally, following the process of where their prescription is, like all big e-commerce, and then tracking their delivery. All of this can be done within the Charac patient app.
For the first time ever community pharmacies can offer their patients the ability to order their repeat prescription and have it delivered via RoyalMail, and it doesn’t stop there. Pharmacies can offer this service to all patients using their pharmacy, digital savvy or not. This not only streamlines delivery processes for pharmacies but improves patient experience, medication management and compliance; all things that ultimately save our NHS money.
We are very excited for the future of our independent community pharmacies and have a number of exciting features we are developing to further enhance the pharmacy journey not only for patients but for our Pharmacists too. In the coming months we will be announcing many more fruitful and complementary partnerships to deliver our mission of supporting our independent community pharmacies to survive and thrive.
On this special announcement, I would like to thank all the friends who have supported me through the early-stages of investment. For now we continue to work hard to bring independent community pharmacies into a digitally accessed future and help to bridge the growing gaps that are ever present in our current primary care services.
